Managed IT and cybersecurity for Akron organizations.

Akron organizations rarely operate out of one room any more. Staff split their week between the office and home, systems have moved to the cloud, and customers have started asking security questions that need real answers. We manage all of that as one service.

The environment got more complicated. The IT arrangement did not.

A second office, a warehouse, staff working two days a week from home, applications spread between the cloud and a server nobody wants to touch. Each change was reasonable on its own; together they produce an environment nobody has a complete picture of.

That is where the gaps live — the site with different rules, the account that was never disabled, the backup covering the old system rather than the new one. Fully managed IT exists to hold the whole picture rather than the piece in front of you.

Day-to-day support does not depend on the building

Help desk, monitoring, patching, security operations and cloud administration all run remotely. An Akron user gets exactly the same service as one in our own building, and a user at home gets the same again — which matters when your team is no longer reliably in one place.

Routine on-site coverage across Northeast Ohio includes the Akron area, so when something genuinely needs a person in front of it, that is a scheduled visit rather than an exception. What we will not do is promise a dispatch time we cannot guarantee.

Where We Work

Organizations that cannot afford technology to be an unknown

Akron's mix leans heavily on organizations where technology failure is expensive in a specific way: manufacturers where a network problem is a production problem, professional firms handling confidential client work, healthcare practices with patient data obligations, and distribution operations that stop when systems do.

What these have in common is that the cost of an outage is not measured in inconvenience. That is the case for managed IT rather than reactive support — the work goes into preventing the failure, not documenting it afterwards.

How on-site work and projects get scoped

Project work is scoped before it starts: what is being changed, what it depends on, who needs to be involved, what the fallback is if something does not go to plan, and when it happens. Server replacements, network upgrades and site work are scheduled around your operating hours rather than dropped into the middle of them.

For work at a second site or a location further out, travel is built into the plan and stated up front. You will know what is being done on-site and what is being handled remotely before anyone commits to a date.

Common questions

We have more than one location. Is each site supported separately?

No — that is the problem we are trying to avoid. Sites are managed under one relationship with consistent standards, security configuration and support processes, so a location does not quietly develop its own way of doing things. You get one team accountable for the whole environment.

What is the difference between 24×7 monitoring and after-hours support?

They are genuinely different things and it is worth being clear. Monitoring and security operations run 24×7 — systems are watched and security alerts are handled around the clock. The help desk is unlimited 8×5, with after-hours assistance for emergencies. A user with a routine problem at 10pm is a next-morning job; a security event at 10pm is not.

Can you work with the vendor who supports our specialist software?

Yes, and it is a normal part of the job. Most organizations run at least one application their industry depends on and their IT provider does not own — a practice management, ERP or line-of-business system. We handle the environment it runs on, coordinate with that vendor on issues that cross the boundary, and stop you from being the one relaying messages between two technical teams.

How do you support staff who work from home?

The same way we support anyone else. Their device is managed, monitored and secured like an in-office one, and they use the same help desk. The thing worth getting right is identity and access — that is what actually protects a hybrid organization, and it is part of the managed service rather than an extra.
